The connection between the 'HaChalutz' movement's preparatory programs and far-left elements has been exposed

Published this evening (Monday) on News 14: We recently exposed the friendly and financial connection between the Democrats party candidate, Yaya Fink, and the educational organization HaChalutz. The HaChalutz movement encompasses pre-military preparatory programs. It is headed by Avishai Ben Aharon, grandson of the legendary Labor party figure, Yitzhak Ben Aharon, who struggled to accept the people's decision in the 1977 'Mahapakh' (upheaval). But the grandson also sees himself as mobilized for the values of the Labor movement and acts accordingly.

Ben Aharon is one of the leaders of the 'Tlamim' circle in the Democrats party, and a few years ago he explained that the Israeli left must conduct an uncompromising struggle against the Kohelet Forum, the Tikvah Fund, and right-wing organizations and parties. Two years after Ben Aharon's speech against the Kohelet Forum, one can find his political partner in the Democrats party, who was educated in HaChalutz institutions, Shani Granot-Lubton, proudly telling how she intimidated one of the donors to the Kohelet Forum.

Beyond being the head of a political circle in the Democrats party with hundreds of registered members, Ben Aharon works to prepare the students of the preparatory programs under him for active political activity through the Israeli left, of course with the goal of building and empowering the left-wing camp. Among other things, the HaChalutz movement organizes trips to Poland for the movement's graduates. Among the sponsors of this activity, one can find the World Zionist Organization, meaning national institutions are funding part of this project.

But this is not just another 'roots trip to Poland'; the HaChalutz movement emphasizes that on this trip, HaChalutz students will meet with Polish activists and intellectuals, and they will look 'forward to the challenges of the Israeli left – and above all, we will set out as a new community of young, determined, and committed leadership.' The one providing sponsorship to the HaChalutz movement in the institutions of the World Zionist Organization is Silvio Hasukovich, the representative of the Democrats party in the national institutions.

The HaChalutz movement recommends that its students continue for a second year. That is, another half-year of learning before enlistment. But part of the learning in the second year involves the students' involvement in left-wing non-profits. For example, the HaChalutz movement reports that second-year students studied, were educated, and even volunteered in left-wing organizations such as: The Movement for Quality Government, the 'Darkenu' association that stands behind the V15 organization, and the left-wing organization 'Idea'.

Another collaboration of the HaChalutz movement is with the non-Zionist left-wing organization 'Standing Together' (Omdim Beyachad). The goal of the program is to create Jewish-Arab political leadership, while HaChalutz collaborates with non-Zionist organizations that promoted refusal to serve during the war, such as Standing Together. Therefore, it is not surprising to find politicians from the left who give lectures and talks in the educational institutions of HaChalutz, such as Fink or Shikma Bressler, who as early as 2021 was educating students of the Rabin preparatory program about demonstrations and protests. And as we exposed, the deep ties between the HaChalutz movement and politicians from the left are not only ideological but financial. Fink transferred close to 300,000 NIS from Histadrut funds to HaChalutz movement associations in 2025 alone. While the leaders of HaChalutz made sure to promote him in the Democrats' primaries.

But the HaChalutz movement also took care of Fink when it distributed his book to 400 students in the movement's preparatory programs. Fink takes care of HaChalutz, and HaChalutz takes care of Fink in the party and even his status among the students. Because in the end, although it is an educational movement, it actually serves as a political arm of the Democrats party and its people, intended to train the next generation of the Israeli left.
