Following the memorandum of understanding from June 2026, Econergy Energy England (a subsidiary 79.26% controlled by the Israeli company Econergy) has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Escofi. This private French company holds a pipeline of wind projects with a cumulative capacity of approximately 740 MW in northern France, located in regions with the most attractive wind regimes and regulatory conditions for onshore wind projects.

This deal marks a significant entry into the French market, a central and stable European hub. The acquisition allows Econergy to increase its exposure to wind technology and secure access to long-term revenue mechanisms (CfD tenders) for 20 years from the French government.

Financial Performance and Growth Potential

Over 90% of the total capacity in commercial operation or under construction benefits from stable revenues at fixed prices under CfD tenders. The representative pipeline (approx. 309 MW) is expected to generate additional revenue of 59–65 million euros and additional EBITDA of 47–53 million euros at the project level. This includes projects expected to begin construction between 2028 and 2030.

In 2027, operational and under-construction projects are expected to generate annual revenue of 26–29 million euros and EBITDA of 20–22 million euros (with the acquired company holding project debt of approx. 102 million euros as of the end of 2025).

Strategic Updates and Development

During the exclusivity and due diligence period, the company achieved several milestones:

  1. Winning an additional CfD tender for 3 projects totaling approx. 46 MW at a price of over 80 euros per MWh for 20 years.

  2. Advancing a repowering project of 8.4 MW, which is now expected to operate in September 2026, four months ahead of schedule.

  3. A 25.2 MW project (70% stake) is set to begin construction in summer 2026, with operation expected in July 2027.

Realizing the advanced project pipeline (34 MW under construction and 147 MW in advanced status) could bring Escofi's operational capacity to approx. 300 MW by 2030, with project EBITDA potentially reaching 42–44 million euros. An additional 432 MW in early-stage development will serve as a growth engine for the next decade.

Eyal Podhorzer, co-founder and CEO of Econergy, stated: "This is a strategic milestone for us. The deal deepens our geographical diversification, strengthens our technological mix, and significantly increases our share of stable, long-term guaranteed revenues. We identify extensive potential for integrating energy storage systems at existing sites, where Econergy has deep expertise, alongside further inorganic expansion in France."
