National Insurance Approved Allowances: Details of the Decision

Advocate and mediator Yair Treibish, who specializes in the realization of medical rights and representation before the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi), the Rehabilitation Department, and pension funds, regularly shares updates and rulings from the cases he handles on social media. As part of a routine update on his work, he published a series of new decisions recently reached regarding his clients.
In a post, Treibish addressed the complex challenge of mental injuries and emphasized the legal and financial differences between the various tracks:
"Psychiatric disability is a 'silent' disability; you do not see it, and the environment is not always aware of the internal struggle. The differences between the disabilities received in similar situations between work-related disability and general disability are extremely significant."
Treibish described the professional struggle he led in the medical committee and the arguments that led to the decision:
"Today, through hard work, I managed to convince the psychiatric committee that although a year has passed since the accident, the client has not returned to full-time work - and therefore, a worsening of the condition must be recognized."
Following the demand he presented and the recognition of the worsening condition, the insured was assigned a psychiatric disability rating of 20% for another year.
This determination carries a very significant economic benefit for the injured party. In the work-related disability track, a temporary disability rating of 20% or higher entitles the insured to a regular monthly allowance throughout the entire eligibility period.
