Earth's escape route: Is this the way to survive the dying Sun?

Space researchers are revealing a dramatic scenario regarding the final days of Earth, suggesting that our planet has a chance to survive the death of the Sun. While known scientific estimates claim that the expansion of the Sun will lead to the total destruction of the planet, a new study reveals a rare escape route that may save the world from being swallowed.
A team of astronomers led by Mats Asladows from the Institute of Astronomy at KU Leuven in Belgium has re-examined the dying process of the Sun. According to the model published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics, as the Sun expands, tidal forces will act on Earth, pulling it inward, but at the same time, the Sun will lose massive amounts of mass, which will weaken its gravitational pull.
The final fate of Earth depends on a delicate balance between these two effects. If the Sun's mass loss outweighs the gravitational forces, Earth will escape to a more distant and safer region of the solar system. After the turbulent and explosive phase, the Sun will shrink and become a small, cold white dwarf, while the planet will remain orbiting it from a great distance.
Recent astronomical observations have already proven that there are planets that have managed to survive similar events and are currently orbiting white dwarfs in space. However, the scientists emphasize that even if Earth manages to avoid being swallowed, the question of whether life could continue to exist on its surface under these freezing conditions remains completely open.
