The 'Ha-Achdut' ('Unity') party, led by former minister and ambassador Gilad Erdan, announced on Wednesday that there are ongoing contacts between Erdan and Benny Gantz.
The statement said: 'A positive meeting took place this morning between the chairman of 'Ha-Achdut', Gilad Erdan, and the chairman of 'Blue and White', Benny Gantz. As Erdan has stated in recent days, he is working vigorously in favor of unions in the unity bloc. Another meeting between the parties will take place in the coming days.'
The contacts between the parties are taking place three months after Erdan denied a possible alliance with Gantz. It has come to the attention of 'Hayom' that behind the scenes, Ayelet Shaked, former Minister of Justice and Interior, is working on mediation and connection between the parties; she collaborated for many years with former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who currently heads the 'Beyachad' ('Together') faction.
