Father Thwarts Kidnapping of Three-Year-Old Daughter in Kiryat Gat
A Kiryat Gat father thwarted the attempted kidnapping of his three-year-old daughter by chasing down a suspect who snatched her from a stroller. Police arrested the man, who claimed it was a misunderstanding.

A man in his 40s was arrested in Kiryat Gat on Friday afternoon on suspicion of attempting to kidnap a three-year-old girl from her stroller. The suspect reportedly lifted the toddler from the carriage and fled the scene on foot while carrying her.
The victim's father quickly intervened, pursuing the suspect and managing to intercept him. A physical struggle ensued as the father fought to rescue his daughter from the abductor's grasp. Police officers rushed to the location and apprehended the suspect at the scene.
"He refused to hand over the child and used force," the father recounted to investigators at the police station. During interrogation, the suspect denied any intention of kidnapping or harming the child, claiming he mistakenly believed the people near the stroller were not her real parents.
Police noted that the suspect had been arrested a few days prior and issued a restraining order keeping him away from the extended family to which the girl belongs. A court extended his detention by four days as the investigation continues.
