Car theft rings operating across the West Bank and Israel have targeted electric utility vehicles in kibbutzim across the central region, Sharon, and coastal plain, netting hundreds of thousands of shekels. According to police sources, the thieves conduct detailed reconnaissance on security arrangements in affluent communities, stealing the specialized vehicles in seconds.

These utility vehicles, commonly used for short-distance travel within rural communities, typically range in value from 25,000 to 90,000 shekels depending on size and model. Investigators noted that perpetrators frequently monitor online second-hand marketplaces to locate targets and coordinate thefts before smuggling the vehicles into the West Bank for resale.

Border Police forces, operating alongside tactical units and the Coastal District's central investigative unit, recently dismantled a cell suspected of stealing 12 such vehicles. Officers recovered the stolen carts from Qalqilya and subsequently filed indictments against four members of the ring, while five residents of Wadi Ara remain implicated in the broader operation.
