The municipality of Jokkmokk in northern Sweden has dismissed its municipal manager, Lars Eriksson, following revelations that he produced and acted in pornographic films. Eriksson will receive a severance package equivalent to six months' salary, amounting to approximately 660,000 Swedish crowns, roughly 60,000 euros.

Roland Boman, chairman of the municipal council representing the local party Future for Jokkmokk, told public broadcaster SVT that the separation was driven by security considerations. According to Boman, Eriksson's past could expose him to potential blackmail.

Jokkmokk, a northern Swedish municipality with a population of approximately 4,700, holds significant strategic importance due to its hydroelectric power stations, the national power grid, and military installations located within its territory.

According to an investigation by SVT, Eriksson has produced adult films since 2018 under the pseudonym "Hans" and also appeared in them. Two films were released in 2025 and 2026, during his tenure as municipal manager.

Eriksson stated that his last involvement with the industry was in 2022 and that he had no control over the release dates of the films. He maintains that his past activities were legal and do not constitute a security risk. While Boman noted he was unaware of any actual blackmail attempts, administrative law expert Ola Lundin from Uppsala University considers the security concerns valid given Jokkmokk's strategic profile.
