20 Million Shekel Investment: Netto Hisachon Opens Flagship Branch in Ashdod
Following a period of intensifying competition for the local shopping basket, the Netto Hisachon chain is returning to Ashdod with a new 2,200-square-meter branch. The opening is set for August 25, ahead of the Tishrei holidays, with the chain promising: "Soon you will pay less."
The discount chain Netto Hisachon is returning to Ashdod with a new, large branch that will open on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 21 HaOrgim Street in the northern industrial zone. The branch spans approximately 2,200 square meters and was established, according to the chain, with an investment of about 20 million shekels.
The chain's return to the city comes ahead of the Tishrei holidays, at a time when many families are preparing for increased expenses on food and household products. At Netto Hisachon, they declare that the new branch will offer a wide variety of products, strict kashrut, and discount prices. The chain published a short message on social media ahead of the opening:
"Ashdod, there is something to look forward to! 25.08.26. Soon you will pay less."
The Sapir Group, to which the chain belongs, is calling on consumers to wait with their major holiday shopping. As part of the announcement to residents, it was stated that those who wait for the branch to open are expected to enjoy a cheaper shopping basket. According to Oren Sapir, CEO of the Sapir Group, the new branch was designed in accordance with the needs of Ashdod residents and the kosher-observant public. He noted that the chain seeks to bring a wide variety, service, strict kashrut, and competitive prices to the city.
The new branch joins the changes that have taken place recently in the food market in Ashdod. In recent months, new branches of food chains have opened in the city and its surroundings, including Mea VeMaavar and Osher Ad, with the new Netto Hisachon branch being established in the location where a Carrefour store previously operated.
