Following the deterioration of his condition, Crown Prince Haakon and Queen Sonja have canceled all their planned events.
It was also reported that members of the royal family were seen arriving at the hospital in Oslo, where the King continues to receive medical care.
In 2024, Harald announced that he would reduce the scope of his official activities due to his age and health, but clarified that he has no intention of abdicating. He stated at the time that the oath he took as King binds him for his entire life.
