A new sports hall opened this week at the IDF's ICT and Cyber Defense Campus in the Negev, funded by Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) and the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel Soldiers. The facility is part of a broad array of welfare and wellness projects at the base, including spinning and yoga rooms, basketball courts, a synagogue, and clinics, aimed at enhancing service conditions for personnel.

The inauguration ceremony took place during a sports day for senior commanders at the campus. Attendees included Head of the ICT and Cyber Defense Directorate Maj. Gen. Aviad Dagan; Campus Commander Col. Dana Avni Rubin; FIDF CEO Maj. Gen. (Res.) Nadav Padan; Association for the Wellbeing of Israel Soldiers Chairman Maj. Gen. (Res.) Yoram Yair; FIDF Israel CEO Brig. Gen. (Res.) Liron Donal; and FIDF donor Rob Pollak, who traveled from the USA for the event.

The ceremony featured the unveiling of a plaque, a ribbon-cutting, and affixing a mezuzah to the new hall. Following the official portion, commanders participated in the finals tournament of the sports day.

Campus Commander Col. Dana Avni Rubin stated: "Optimal service conditions are an integral part of a soldier's resilience and readiness. The new sports hall reflects the importance we attribute to the wellbeing and health of our personnel, creating an environment that allows them to strengthen, develop, and bond outside of routine operational duties."

FIDF CEO Maj. Gen. (Res.) Nadav Padan added: "The new sports hall is another expression of the deep commitment of FIDF and its donors to the wellbeing of the troops. Thousands of donors in the USA continue to demonstrate solidarity and exceptional commitment, enabling us to provide meaningful support to those who dedicate their lives to the nation's security."
