Azmi Bishara Denies Qatari Election Meddling Accusations by Israeli Commentator
Former MK Azmi Bishara dismissed accusations by Israeli commentator Dr. Eddie Cohen linking him to alleged Qatari election meddling, calling the claims a distorted fabrication.

Former Knesset member Azmi Bishara, who was accused of treason and aiding Hezbollah during the Second Lebanon War, responded over the weekend to remarks made by Channel 14 panelist Dr. Eddie Cohen. Cohen suggested that if Qatar is behind alleged election manipulation in Israel, Bishara is likely the mastermind behind the plot.
Dr. Cohen stated that immediately after suspicions arose against him, Bishara resigned from the Knesset and fled to Qatar, where he now operates against Israel. Bishara has transitioned from an internal political figure to an influential regional intellectual, utilizing his status in Doha to promote narratives undermining Israeli legitimacy while supporting Palestinian interests.
Additionally, Bishara was involved in establishing the Qatari-funded media network Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, which includes newspapers and television channels broadcasting harsh criticism of Israel and providing a platform for figures from Hamas and other organizations. Cohen described this network as an incitement machine promoting anti-Israel agendas.
In response, speaking to the Al-Araby Al-Jadeed network he helped establish, Bishara dismissed the accusations as incitement by the Israeli right wing following the Knesset elections. He claimed that the unprecedented Arab voter turnout was purely political, rejecting any claims of Qatari interference as a distorted fabrication.
