Police Recover Stolen IDF Hummer as Military Launches Amnesty Campaign
Israeli police recovered an IDF Hummer stolen from the secure Camp Jilis base. The incident prompted a military amnesty campaign for returning equipment.

An IDF Hummer stolen from the secure Camp Jilis base, home to the elite Yahalom and Maglan units, has been recovered by police in southern Israel. Officers located the vehicle inside a packing house in Moshav Ami'oez following intelligence gathered by the Segev Shalom police station.
Investigators are currently probing the circumstances of the theft, with initial assessments suggesting the perpetrators received internal assistance from a soldier stationed at the base. The incident prompted the IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate to launch a 12-day nationwide campaign allowing active-duty troops, reservists, and civilians to return missing military equipment anonymously and without facing criminal or disciplinary proceedings.
In an official response, the IDF stated that the military continues to combat thefts of weaponry and heavy equipment. Authorities emphasized that investigations by the Military Police are opened based on specific circumstances, adding that the military does not view the theft of Hummers as a widespread systemic phenomenon.
