Rafael Advanced Defense Systems announced that it is showcasing its multi-layered naval air defense system at the Euronaval 2026 exhibition, which opened in Paris and runs through the end of the week. The display features the C-Dome system, the Naval Lite Beam system, and electronic warfare capabilities through a new interactive presentation, alongside a full-scale model of the Naval Lite Beam system.

Rafael's participation on French soil marks a notable shift following previous exhibitions over the past three years, during which French authorities sought to restrict Israeli defense pavilions from fully displaying Israeli products. Rafael stated that its naval air defense concept relies on decades of operational experience in developing Israel's multi-layered air defense network, as well as lessons learned from recent conflicts in Europe and the Middle East.

Each defense layer addresses a distinct aspect of modern threats, creating an integrated system adaptable to various naval fleets and vessel sizes. The C-Dome system, the naval adaptation of the Iron Dome, provides defense against aerial threats using interceptors with proven operational effectiveness. Integrated into existing vessel radars and combat management systems, its compact size allows for deployment across a wide range of watercraft.

The Naval Lite Beam system introduces a high-power laser layer optimized for maritime environments, designed to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles and other threats with high precision and low operational costs. Operating alongside C-Dome, it preserves interceptors for more complex threats. Additionally, electronic warfare capabilities provide a non-kinetic soft kill layer to protect vessels and crews within the electromagnetic spectrum.

Ran Tavor, head of the Naval Directorate at Rafael, emphasized the necessity of integrated defense layers: "Modern naval air defense requires a combination of synchronized layers. C-Dome, Naval Lite Beam, and our electronic warfare capabilities provide navies with an integrated defense array, featuring a combat-proven interceptor, a precise low-cost laser layer against drone threats, and non-kinetic electromagnetic protection."
