The Shin Bet has transferred the personal security detail of MK Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the "Yashar!" party, to its elite Unit 730 following severe security lapses. The decision was made on Tuesday after a security assessment revealed that a private contractor, previously tasked with the protection, failed to secure Eisenkot's residential building, allowing an untested woman to enter the premises.

This overhaul follows two major security incidents over recent days, culminating in a violent protest outside Eisenkot's home on Sunday. Demonstrators shouted hostile slogans, with one individual using a megaphone to hurl severe accusations, including chanting "you murdered your son, traitor." Additional protesters joined in the verbal assault, which heavily exploited the death of Eisenkot's son, Gal Eisenkot, a reservist killed in combat in the Gaza Strip in December 2023 while his father served in the war cabinet. Eisenkot's nephew, Maor Cohen Eisenkot, also fell during the ongoing conflict.

The "Yashar!" party announced that it filed a police complaint regarding the incident. According to the party, the targeted protester not only leveled baseless accusations at Eisenkot but also issued death threats to his wife, Hana, reportedly telling her she would soon join her son.

Following these cascading security failures and threats, the Shin Bet security division stepped in, stripping the private firm of its duties and assigning Unit 730 to handle Eisenkot's protection fully and exclusively.
