US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated that Israel is not currently targeted by the Houthis, despite escalating clashes between Saudi Arabia and Yemeni rebels.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated on Tuesday that despite the escalation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in Yemen, the fighting has not spread to the broader region at this stage, and Israel is not currently in the crosshairs. "Israel is not a target. No Houthi missiles have been fired at us, and no Iranian missiles have been fired at us," he said.
Speaking to Newsmax, Huckabee noted that the ceasefire between the United States and the Houthis remains in effect for about a year and a half, and the current conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia has not yet spilled over to other Gulf states. "That is the good news," he said.
"We must not forget that the Houthis are a proxy of Iran, as are Hamas and Hezbollah," Ambassador Huckabee emphasized.
The Wider Iranian Threat
The ambassador stressed that events must be viewed as part of the broader confrontation with Iran. According to him, US President Donald Trump understood the danger posed by Iran because "until you take down the mother ship, all these satellites will continue to do malicious things around the world."
Meanwhile, the escalation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis expanded to some of the kingdom's most sensitive areas, with sirens sounding in Mecca, alongside renewed alerts in Jeddah and Taif. The alerts follow overnight warnings in six other cities, including Yanbu, Saudi Arabia's primary Red Sea oil port. No official casualties or damage have been reported.
