Strengthening Defenses and Drone Partnership
President Stubb noted that the package includes critical military equipment urgently needed on the battlefield. Furthermore, Finland and Ukraine have been advancing a comprehensive drone cooperation framework, under which Helsinki plans to transfer roughly 90% of its joint drone production to Kyiv.
"Ukraine is preparing for the upcoming winter and needs all of our support," Stubb stated, highlighting the moral and strategic imperative of standing against Russian aggression.
Regional Security Context
Sharing a 1,340-kilometer border with Russia, Finland abandoned its historic non-alignment policy to join NATO following the invasion. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is prepared to explore de-escalation steps if the United States can guarantee Russia's genuine readiness to halt the conflict.
