Hapoel Jerusalem is set to face Aris Thessaloniki on Wednesday at 21:00 in a high-stakes clash for the top spot in EuroCup Group A. Both teams head into the encounter in Belgrade with a flawless European record of five wins from five games.
Aris enters the match on the back of an eight-game winning streak across all competitions, which includes a victory over Panathinaikos. Aris head coach Vassilis Spanoulis emphasized the significance of the matchup ahead of their trip to Serbia.
"This is a very important game for both teams. Aris and Hapoel Jerusalem share the same ambitions and the same record," Spanoulis stated. "We are traveling to Belgrade to play our game. We know the strengths and weaknesses of Hapoel Jerusalem. We must maintain concentration and a high level of energy throughout all 40 minutes."
Aris player Adam Mokoka praised the Israeli side and warned of the anticipated challenge. "We are going to face a very high-quality team. They have a very talented roster. This will be a game that requires a lot of physicality. We need to clear our heads and be ready for a tough battle."
Aris will welcome back Stefan Jović, who missed the last league game due to the Greek league's foreign player limit. Meanwhile, Lefteris Bochoridis, Vassilis Charalampopoulos, and Giorgos Tanoulis did not travel with the squad to Belgrade and continue with individual training programs.
