Galatasaray and Sporting CP Secure Crucial Champions League Victories
Galatasaray defeated Stuttgart 2-0 with an early brace from Alexei Batrakov, while Sporting CP edged Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 at Stamford Bridge as the Champions League group stage continued on Tuesday.

The fourth matchday of the Champions League kicked off on Tuesday, with Galatasaray and Sporting CP securing crucial victories in the early fixtures.
Galatasaray secured a 2-0 home win against Stuttgart, marking their second consecutive victory in the tournament. Alexei Batrakov decided the encounter with a quickfire brace in the 11th and 15th minutes, setting two club records: at 21 years and 147 days, he became the youngest player to score a brace for the Turkish side in the competition and the first to do so within the opening quarter of an hour.
Stuttgart started brightly when Jamie Leweling struck both goalposts in the same sequence in the eighth minute, but Galatasaray capitalized on their chances. The German side awakened in the second half, though goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır made several crucial saves, and a goal by Chris Führich in the 75th minute was disallowed due to Deniz Undav being in an offside position. Okan Buruk's side, leading the Turkish league, registered their fifth consecutive win across all competitions.
In London, Sporting CP returned to winning ways in the Champions League after defeating Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, where the Ukrainian side hosts their European matches due to the ongoing conflict. Shakhtar was more dangerous in the first half but failed to find the net. In the 59th minute, Issa Doumbia capitalized on a poor clearance by Pedro Henrique to score the winner.
The hosts pushed for an equalizer, but Kauã Elias missed from close range in the 72nd minute, and Alison Santana hit the goalpost in the 82nd minute. Sporting raised their tally to nine points in the tournament, while Shakhtar remained with four points.
