Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya claimed in an interview with the Qatari channel Al-Araby that the terrorist organization sought aid for Gaza from Arab and Muslim nations, but Israel disrupted these efforts.
Al-Hayya stated that stopping the aggression is the top priority, followed by Palestinian unity. He added that Hamas knocked on the doors of all nations to request assistance for the Palestinian people, finding great responsiveness among Arab and Muslim brothers, but the occupation thwarted it.
He further claimed that the October 7 attacks came in response to the occupation's actions and the attempt to erase the Palestinian issue. Al-Hayya also asserted that he met with American officials several times to discuss Israel's conduct and the non-implementation of the ceasefire agreement, noting a degree of understanding from the US side.
Additionally, al-Hayya offered to mediate between the warring parties in Yemen, specifically between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government, expressing hope that the proposal would be accepted.
