Following the intense debate over the past week and a half regarding Amit Segal's report that Eli Ohana is expected to receive a reserved spot on the Likud list for the next Knesset elections, the question has arisen: is Ohana's broadcast partner on Keshet 12, Ofira Asayag, also heading toward politics?

While Ohana gave an ambiguous answer, declaring that "it burns within me" when asked about the "political bug," Ofira Asayag provided a much more unequivocal response when asked if she intends to run in the upcoming elections.

Live on air: Ofira Asayag's response

During a broadcast of the program "Doh Matzav" ("Situation Report") with Yaron Avraham and Einav Galili, Channel 12 news correspondent Yaron Avraham revealed a message he received from Ofira Asayag, an answer that seemed to surprise even him.

Avraham took out his phone on air and said: "I must first read the response from Ofira Asayag that arrived on my phone." Galili responded: "What? She decided to announce here if she is entering politics? Please."

"When you go into politics - I will also consider it," read the message from Asayag.

Avraham continued, commenting: "Ofira Asayag wants to clarify that she is not going." In a story he uploaded regarding the matter, he wrote: "Ofira asks to clarify," while Asayag re-uploaded the story, adding: "Screams! What movies and messes you are making for me, Yaron..."
