While Gantz has been careful for many long months to convey the message that the only solution to the crisis in Israel is the establishment of a "broad Zionist government," arguing that a "half-nation government" will not be able to lead fundamental changes such as a conscription law or a state commission of inquiry, Schuster sets a different order of priorities.
Before proposing his "two-stage model," Schuster did not spare sharp criticism of the Prime Minister, and explained why his removal is so urgent: "In these unbearable years, the Prime Minister did not show leadership and responsibility. He and his cronies systematically cracked public trust in state systems... He gave a hand to the campaign against democracy, prevented a thorough investigation of the October disaster, and took part in the robbery of the public treasury for privileged sectors."
