Two weeks until lists close: Hili Tropper does not rule out electoral mergers
Hili Tropper's party is not yet passing the electoral threshold in polls, but he believes there is still time for change. He does not rule out last-minute mergers and urges Ofer Winter to clarify his political stance.
The chairman of the Yashar party, Hili Tropper, commented this morning (Wednesday) in an interview with "Morning News" on Channel 12 regarding his party's situation in the polls, ahead of the closing of the lists in two weeks and one day. According to him, although the party is not yet passing the electoral threshold, he believes that there is enough time for change and even hinted at the possibility of political mergers.
"We are on the verge of the electoral threshold, and in the third bloc we are the closest to passing. It is not enough, and I am focused on the mission of how to pass the electoral threshold. We want to be the party that determines which government will be formed here. In the political field, there is a dynamic of the last moment, and two weeks is a long time in political life."
When asked how he would act if in ten days it turns out that his party is not passing the electoral threshold, he replied: "I want to be in the Knesset and serve what I believe in. I assume that in the next two weeks there will be such and such mergers. I am a sober person and I feel the people. If we need to make decisions along the way, we will."
Tropper confirmed that the chairman of "Yashar!", Gadi Eisenkot, and others had approached him in the past with offers, but clarified that he is not currently conducting negotiations: "I appreciate him very much. Gadi and others approached and made good offers, but I chose the path I believe in, even if it is difficult. For many Israelis, we are a political home, and they have joined it and will join it further."
Later, Tropper also addressed the chairman of the "Amcha Yisrael" party, Ofer Winter, and the possibility of future cooperation with him: "If a Zionist government is formed, Ofer Winter will be part of it. We are on the side of those who serve and the fighters. Ofer needs to choose a side - if he chooses the side of those who serve, we will be able to form a Zionist government," he said.
However, Tropper refrained from determining which bloc Winter would join: "The story is not Ofer Winter, because I have not yet heard his positions. Benjamin Netanyahu also said a few weeks ago that he is in favor of a conscription law, but he did not bring a conscription law. In the end, what determines is the test of action. A Zionist government is the only thing Israel needs now."
