Shooting in Lakiya caused panic in Carmit: three suspects arrested

Three suspects were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a shooting and brawl in the town of Lakiya, an incident that alarmed residents of nearby Carmit, police reported. Following the report, officers from the Ayarot station, fighters from the Sahar brigade, and Southern District Border Police units were deployed to locate those involved. During the operation, forces spotted a suspect who fired shots and fled on foot towards a wadi adjacent to residential homes.
Police officers and fighters conducted a foot pursuit using lighting equipment and eventually located the suspect hiding in the bushes. During the operation, two additional suspects in their 30s were also arrested. All three were transferred to the Ayarot station for questioning.
Last Wednesday, a report was received regarding shots fired at an electricity pole in the town of Tel Sheva. Shortly thereafter, employees of the Israel Electric Corporation arrived at the scene to repair the damage. As they began their work to restore power to residents, the suspects who had shot at the pole threatened them and demanded they leave the area. The employees were forced to stop their work and depart due to the threats.
Police opened an investigation, and within a few hours, officers from the Ayarot station, in cooperation with the Tel Sheva municipal police, the Sahar unit, and Border Police, arrested two suspects—residents of Tel Sheva in their 20s and 30s—on suspicion of involvement in the shooting and threats against the utility workers. The suspects were transferred for further questioning, and the investigation remains ongoing.
