Published this evening (Wednesday) in the main news edition: The primaries are behind us, but the battle over the Likud list is far from over. Behind the scenes, a legal move is already being organized against the reserved spots for ministers Israel Katz and Haim Katz.

At the center is the reserved spot received by Israel Katz, beyond the eight reserved spots that Benjamin Netanyahu had already secured. Sources in Likud want to petition so that this reserved spot is counted within the eight reserved spots, which could shift the list and return to realistic spots Knesset members who were pushed back, including Ze'ev Elkin and Hanoch Milwidsky.

In such a situation, Benjamin Netanyahu will have to decide if he still wants to keep a spot for Israel Katz in the top ten, or reserve him as part of the spots in the second ten. At the same time, those same sources are not giving up on the reserved spot for Haim Katz either. Although they have already tried to attack it legally in the past, they are now examining another attempt to petition against this reserved spot as well. In other words, the primaries are over, but the battle over who will actually be on the Likud list for the next Knesset is just beginning.
