Cyclist Fatally Struck by Stolen Vehicle Near Tel Aviv; Suspect Arrested

An undocumented Palestinian resident suspected of car theft allegedly struck and fatally injured a cyclist near Tel Aviv's Cliff Beach this morning. Police arrested the 24-year-old suspect after the stolen vehicle he was driving overturned during the incident. Traffic investigators were dispatched to the scene to collect evidence. Authorities discovered a bag inside the stolen car containing tools typically used for vehicle thefts, including an ignition computer, a hammer, and glass-breaking equipment.

The Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service received a report at 8:22 AM regarding a cyclist injured on Arik Sharon Boulevard in Herzliya, near the Tel Aviv municipal border and Yonietzman Street. MDA paramedics and medics provided initial medical treatment to the approximately 50-year-old victim, evacuating him in critical condition to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv while performing ongoing resuscitation efforts.

MDA motorcycle unit medic David Amichai recounted the scene: "This was a horrifying traffic accident. We saw the cyclist unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, with an overturned vehicle nearby. We immediately began resuscitation efforts including chest compressions, artificial ventilation, and medication administration while evacuating him in critical condition." Shortly thereafter, doctors pronounced the cyclist dead at the hospital.
