Police and National Guard fighters intercepted a vehicle on Route 40 on Thursday, seizing approximately 2 kg of suspected crystal methamphetamine valued at around 3 million shekels. Four suspects were arrested during the operation.

As part of proactive intelligence-driven operations by the Ayarot police station in coordination with the South Border Guard National Guard fighters, officers tracked a vehicle suspected of traveling to southern Israel to collect a large quantity of narcotics. The vehicle was intercepted as it headed north on Route 40.

During a search of the vehicle, roughly 2 kg of suspected crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of 3 million shekels was discovered. Four foreign nationals from Thailand, in their 30s and 40s, were arrested at the scene and transferred alongside the seized contraband to the Ayarot police station for further investigation.

Commander Yehav Siman of the Ayarot station stated that the seizure reflects targeted operations and inter-agency cooperation against drug trafficking networks. He emphasized that law enforcement will continue utilizing all available resources to apprehend offenders and bring those involved to justice.
