The volume of government advertising on Channel 14 reached a record 7.1 million shekels in 2025, according to data from the Government Advertising Bureau (LAPAM) revealed following a freedom of information request by 'The Seventh Eye' and the 'Hatzlacha' organization. This represents an increase of 9% compared to 2024 and a jump of 368% compared to 2022.

The data shows that 68% of the amount was transferred through 9 government ministries headed by Likud ministers. At the top of the list of ministries that allocated the highest amounts are the Ministry of Defense, which spent about 1.23 million shekels, and the Ministry of Education, which allocated about 1.14 million shekels for advertising on the channel during the year.

Alongside the purchase of airtime through LAPAM, the article also notes additional engagements that did not go through the Government Advertising Bureau, including the purchase of sponsorships for the channel's events. According to the publication, such engagements are not included in the LAPAM data and are therefore not reflected in the total amount.

The data also shows that in parallel with the increase in advertising budgets for Channel 14, there was a decrease in the volume of government advertising on Channels 12 and 13 compared to 2022. The article notes that the management of Channel 14 attributes the growth in budgets to an increase in ratings and a change in advertising pricing, while the publication also points to a gap between the rate of increase in ratings and the rate of growth in revenue from government advertising.

During 2026, new procedures came into effect at LAPAM, according to which any deviation from the professional staff's recommendations regarding the distribution of advertising budgets will require documentation, a legal opinion, and the approval of the LAPAM director. According to the state, the purpose of the changes is to ensure that government advertising budgets are distributed based on professional, equal, and uniform considerations.
