"It's just a game": 'Patriots' panelist on the purpose of the Peace Council

During the 'Patriots' program aired on Wednesday, panelist Yoni Chetboun addressed the Peace Council and claimed that it is a strategic "game" by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to him, the move is intended primarily to generate international legitimacy for the State of Israel, with the understanding that Hamas is expected to violate any agreement. The statement sparked great interest among viewers and presented a different angle on current diplomacy.

Chetboun emphasized:

"Anyone who knows what is happening inside knows very well that everyone understands that this time Hamas will violate the agreement."

He added: "The Peace Council is intended today to give legitimacy to the State of Israel. It is a tool, it is just a game." According to him, Prime Minister Netanyahu "knows how to play nicely on the international field" with this tool, while "the players who are inside know this thing."

Chetboun further noted that "Hamas is going to violate" the agreements, and therefore called on the public to exercise "patience." He explained: "It is good that there is pressure on Netanyahu within the government because it creates pressure vis-à-vis the international arena, but it is just a game to create international legitimacy."
