Cafe Gan Sipur Launches Gourmet Ptitim Winter Menu Across Israel
Cafe Gan Sipur restaurant chain in Israel launches a winter menu featuring gourmet ptitim dishes created by Chef Meir Alalouf alongside a variety of seasonal sahlab beverages starting November 15.
As winter approaches in Israel, the beloved Israeli staple ptitim—often known as Israeli couscous—is stepping out of the home kitchen and onto the menu in a new culinary collaboration. Chef Meir Alalouf, the newly appointed executive chef of the Cafe Gan Sipur restaurant chain, has introduced a creative winter menu that reimagines the humble toasted pasta through rich, sophisticated dishes.
The seasonal lineup features four distinct interpretations, transforming ptitim from comfort food into gourmet plates. Diners can now enjoy ptitim croquettes stuffed with tomatoes, oregano, and mozzarella in a crisp breadcrumb coating served alongside a black pepper cream sauce. Another highlight is ptitim tossed in brown butter with sweet corn cream, seared mushrooms, parmesan, and a poached egg.
The menu also offers a refreshing ptitim salad paired with crispy fish chunks, fresh parsley, mint, sun-dried tomatoes, celery, walnuts, and Kalamata olives. For seafood lovers, the chain presents a seared sea bream fillet served over a creamy ptitim risotto prepared with mushrooms, spinach, butter, parmesan, and garlic.
Alongside the ptitim specials, Cafe Gan Sipur is bringing back its comforting winter sahlab drinks with several new variations, including a classic version with granola, coconut, and cinnamon, a chocolate sahlab with milk chocolate pralines, an espresso option, and a strawberry edition with jam, meringue, and crumble. A notable sweet innovation this season is the Werther's Original sahlab topped with toffee sauce, candies, and caramel popcorn. The special ptitim dishes and winter sahlab selections will be available starting November 15 across all Cafe Gan Sipur branches nationwide.
