Moria Asraf Hosts Solo on Channel 13 Following Eyal Berkovic Suspension
Moria Asraf hosted Channel 13's "Moria and Berko" solo after co-host Eyal Berkovic was suspended over controversial remarks. Asraf defended media pluralism and announced his expected return.

Channel 13 anchor Moria Asraf hosted her Sunday evening program "Moria and Berko" solo, hours after the network suspended her co-host Eyal Berkovic over controversial remarks. The suspension followed Berkovic's comments on Saturday night regarding the doctoral degrees of Abdul El-Sayed and MK Ahmad Tibi, which network management condemned as racist.
Opening the broadcast with a deeply personal monologue, Asraf reflected on her youth and the lack of diverse representation in Israeli media. She described watching television as a teenager and feeling that her worldview was rarely voiced by the mainstream panels. According to Asraf, while the media landscape has somewhat evolved, certain viewpoints continue to face marginalization or delegitimization.
Addressing recent criticism directed at conservative and alternative media figures, Asraf pushed back against calls for her own dismissal. She referenced a recent opinion column calling for her firing, stating that her ideological convictions and professional background remain steadfast despite external pressure from commentators and social media critics.
Concluding her address, Asraf directly addressed Berkovic's absence, describing him as a dear friend and a valued broadcaster. She confirmed that Berkovic is expected to return to the airwaves in the coming days, emphasizing that the program will continue to foster open dialogue representing diverse segments of Israeli society.
