Boy George Slams Israeli Activist Over Scathing Tel Aviv Concert Review
Boy George hits back at Israeli activist Moran Michel after her harsh review of his Tel Aviv concert, defending his decision to support Israel despite risks.

British pop icon Boy George has fired back at Israeli activist and The Democrats party member Moran Michel following her scathing review of his concert at Menora Mivtachim Arena. Taking to social media platform X, the Culture Club singer expressed his outrage over her remarks while emphasizing his steadfast support for Israel.
"I want to address the hateful things Moran Michel wrote about my show," Boy George wrote on X. "I came to Israel at great risk to my personal safety." He added that despite facing insults, he chose to perform and intends to return, noting that he takes things personally and refuses to yield to detractors.
The controversy began after Michel published a lengthy post detailing her impulsive ticket purchase and disappointment with the performance. She claimed she did not recognize the songs, mocked his stage banter, and criticized his acknowledgment of the October 7 Nova festival victims, comparing the tribute unfavorably to a children's game.
Boy George has emerged as one of the most vocal international artists supporting Israel since the outbreak of the war. In July, he released the single "We Will Dance Again" in memory of the Nova festival victims, a move that drew severe online backlash and led him to step down from a high-profile production.
