A suspect hurled stones from a bridge over the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv on Sunday morning, targeting vehicles traveling at roughly 90 kilometers per hour near the Halakha Interchange. Several cars sustained damage, including a Tesla and a taxi driving alongside it, both captured on camera.

Driver Details the Terrifying Ordeal

Edward Rees, who was driving the targeted Tesla, described the terrifying moments in an interview. He noted that he was driving northbound in the left lane when rocks suddenly rained down on the highway.

"I was driving innocently northbound in the left lane. When I reached beneath the bridge, I suddenly saw stones flying, practically boulders, toward my lane and the lane next to me. We were traveling at 80 to 90 km/h, and I didn't have time to react," Rees recounted.

While his vehicle suffered paint damage and minor impacts to the windshield, which did not shatter, the taxi traveling beside him absorbed the brunt of the assault.

Investigation and Public Safety Concerns

After parking his vehicle, Rees reviewed the built-in Tesla camera footage, which clearly showed an individual standing on the bridge, emptying a bag or bucket of stones onto the moving traffic below before fleeing on foot toward Ramat Gan.

Rees immediately filed a complaint with the Lev Tel Aviv police station. He intends to extract higher-resolution footage to identify the impacted taxi driver and assist law enforcement in their pursuit. Expressing deep concern, Rees warned that such reckless acts could easily turn fatal, emphasizing the urgent need for a swift police response to catch the perpetrator.
