A routine bus ride in central Israel turned into a distressing ordeal for a young Druze woman after a group of teenagers hurled racist insults at her for speaking Arabic on her phone.

The incident took place on Dan bus line 66 as the woman was traveling to Petah Tikva. According to her family, several teenagers began shouting at her, yelling: "Stinking Arab! Get off the bus, you have no place in this country."

The family stated that none of the passengers intervened. "She didn't deserve this; she was merely speaking Arabic, and no one even stepped in out of fear of dealing with the teenagers," they said.

The case was first publicized by journalist Daniel Amram. The victim's brother, a Druze IDF pilot who returned from reserve duty, managed to obtain CCTV footage from the Dan bus company several weeks after the incident.

The family is currently working to identify the teenagers in order to consider filing a civil lawsuit against them or their parents for the humiliation. The family noted that the young woman's father served as a combat soldier in a special unit, and her brother serves as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force.

Dan bus company stated in response that "such an incident is not familiar to us."
