With an investment of about 20 million shekels: The veteran stadium reopens

The Herzliya Municipality has invested nearly 20 million shekels in a comprehensive upgrade of the stadium. Tomorrow (Thursday), it will host its first match in the Toto Cup framework between Maccabi Herzliya and Hapoel Ra'anana.

As part of the project, the municipality carried out a comprehensive renovation of the stadium to meet National League requirements, including: renovation of restroom complexes, construction of new buffets, upgrading of locker rooms, improvement of player benches to high standards, renewal of the turf and peripheral lighting, as well as the installation of an automatic cleaning system for the area.

Following last season's efforts to return Hapoel Herzliya to the municipal stadium for Liga Alef matches, the city has now completed the task of bringing Maccabi Herzliya back to its home field.

The Mayor, Yariv Fisher, said:

"This is an exciting moment for sports in Herzliya and for thousands of football fans in the city. The residents of Herzliya deserve to enjoy a high-quality and advanced facility. We are happy to see Maccabi Herzliya returning home to the National League, but we will not stop here. We will continue to develop the stadium and bring it to the standard of the Premier League, so that it will serve as a worthy home for the city's teams and for top-tier matches and sports events."

The Deputy Mayor, holder of the sports portfolio, Ofer Levi, stated:

"We promised to return football in Herzliya to the proper path and we are delivering. After years in which the stadium did not meet the requirements of the National League, we invested many resources to return Maccabi Herzliya to play at home, in front of its crowd. We will continue to invest in the stadium, upgrade it and adapt it also to the requirements of the Premier League. Alongside this, we will continue to upgrade the training fields for about 3,000 teenagers in the city who play football."
