National Insurance: Average benefit payments rise to 5,280 shekels
The National Insurance Institute has published its August payment schedule. Due to the weekend, some allowances will be paid early, and the average benefit amount has increased by 2.64% to 5,280 shekels.
August has arrived, and the National Insurance Institute is distributing allowances to hundreds of thousands of eligible Israelis. We have compiled the essential information regarding payment schedules, reporting deadlines, and updates to benefit amounts.
The National Insurance Institute announced that the average allowance has increased since the beginning of 2026 due to a 2.64% rise in the Consumer Price Index. Following this update, the average benefit amount across all categories is approximately 5,280 shekels.
Unemployment benefits and income support will be the first to be paid on August 12. The reporting and payment deadline for insurance contributions for employers and the self-employed, originally set for August 15 (a Saturday), has been shifted to August 16.
Child allowances are scheduled to be deposited on August 20. The remaining allowances, originally set for August 28 (a Friday), will be advanced by one day and paid on Thursday, August 27.
This schedule applies to the following:

Mobility, work injury, and nursing benefits;
