Chef Assaf Granit continues to expand his culinary empire, and this time he is entering a new field. Following reports in recent months that he is in preliminary talks with the Louis Vuitton group to bring them on as a partner in the international restaurant arm of the Machneyuda group, Granit is now preparing to launch a new business in France—not a restaurant, but an ice cream shop.
The new venture is called Licouk, a name chosen intentionally as it resembles the Hebrew word "likuk" (licking) while carrying a French flair. The shop is already marked as "opening soon," and preparations appear to be in full swing.
Granit, who has accumulated a total of six Michelin stars and operates several successful restaurants in Paris and across Europe, shared a series of stories on his Instagram account this Saturday. The footage shows him working inside the new shop, arranging the space, and overseeing final preparations before opening to the public.
Alongside the videos, the chef posted photos of colorful ice cream cups featuring a variety of sorbet flavors, offering a first glimpse of what will be on the menu. While full details have yet to be revealed, the photos have already sparked significant curiosity among his many followers.
This move marks a further expansion for Granit, who has become one of the most successful Israeli chefs globally. Having established his reputation primarily through fine dining, he is now choosing to enter the world of ice cream, hoping to replicate his success in the sweet sector as well.
