A new collective agreement signed today at the Israel Nature and Parks Authority includes a signing bonus, a permanent salary increase, recognition of professional seniority, and additional benefits for approximately 2,200 employees.

After being arrested on suspicion of being members of a protection racket, the suspects were found with hunting equipment, porcupine meat, and a live young porcupine that was released back into the wild, "saved moments before the slaughter." A case was opened against all four for suspected illegal hunting of wildlife using prohibited methods and possession of protected natural values.

During a raid in the village of A-Ram, Border Police forces discovered an Israeli gazelle fawn being kept in captivity. The suspect was detained, and the animal was transferred for veterinary care.

A green monkey was located and rescued overnight from a cage in a house in Jericho after suspicions arose that it was being kept there illegally. The monkey was transferred to the custody of the Nature and Parks Authority and subsequently to the Israeli Monkey Sanctuary.

The sunfish, one of the largest bony fish in the world and a species defined as vulnerable, was documented in the Coral Reserve in Eilat. "I was impressed by the power and presence of this special fish," said the Israel Nature and Parks Authority inspector who documented it.
