Mistaken identity leads to violence: Stabbing and robbery of a man sleeping in his car
A Tel Aviv resident who mistakenly believed a neighbor had stolen his electric bicycle ambushed and stabbed the man while he slept in his car, subsequently stealing the vehicle. The District Court ruled the incident was a violent and cruel act, but considered the motive of revenge as a mitigating factor. The defendant was sentenced to 23 months in prison, along with fines and compensation.
