Manchester United

Manchester United and Atletico Madrid face off in a high-stakes clash as financial powerhouses with contrasting ownership models, revenue streams, and squad valuations collide on the European stage.

Bayern Munich and Manchester United secured resounding 5-0 and 4-0 victories, while debutants Como stunned RB Leipzig 4-1 in the opening matchday of the Champions League.

Manchester United marked their Champions League return with a 4:0 win over Sabah. Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Sesko, and Lisandro Martinez scored at Old Trafford.

Valdas Dambrauskas, Sabah's coach, went from cleaning pub floors in London to facing Manchester United in the Champions League after funding his early studies with game show winnings.

The two giants are preparing for significant reinforcements just before the season kicks off. The Red Devils have submitted a £65 million bid for Brighton midfielder Carlos Balba, while Arsenal is nearing a deal for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, valued at £60 million.

In England, it is reported that Galatasaray is planning to offer around 43 million pounds for the captain of the Red Devils, who for their part do not intend to let him go. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Milan are also monitoring.

In a documentary about the coach, it was revealed that in 2013 he had already signed with Manchester United to replace the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson, but decided to keep his word to Chelsea and return to London. Ferguson admitted he was disappointed: "He said he couldn't take the offer."

The French midfielder has reached an understanding with the Red Devils on his personal terms, but the gap with Roma still stands at about 10 million euros. The French champion may enter the picture.
