The two giants are preparing for significant reinforcements just before the season kicks off. The Red Devils have submitted a £65 million bid for Brighton midfielder Carlos Balba, while Arsenal is nearing a deal for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, valued at £60 million.

In England, it is reported that Galatasaray is planning to offer around 43 million pounds for the captain of the Red Devils, who for their part do not intend to let him go. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Milan are also monitoring.

In a documentary about the coach, it was revealed that in 2013 he had already signed with Manchester United to replace the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson, but decided to keep his word to Chelsea and return to London. Ferguson admitted he was disappointed: "He said he couldn't take the offer."

The French midfielder has reached an understanding with the Red Devils on his personal terms, but the gap with Roma still stands at about 10 million euros. The French champion may enter the picture.

JJ Gabriel, who scored 29 goals in 32 appearances last season and was voted the youth team's player of the season, has been called up to the Red Devils' squad for the first time and may make his debut against Rosenborg.
