Bringing the grandfather and grandmother of the Visionary of the State to burial on Mount Herzl is an opportunity for educational soul-searching: the research of the last 25 years has changed the understanding of the path that led Herzl to Zionism, but textbooks are still stuck in the simplistic story of the Dreyfus affair.

The ceremony in which the bones of the state visionary's grandparents were interred is part of a story about roots, memory, and the connecting thread between generations. It is a philosophical reminder that heritage and national identity do not truly disappear and resurface to remind us who we are, where we came from, and where we are heading.
