Against the backdrop of global instability, maritime terrorism off the coast of Somalia is resurging. Two commercial vessels have been hijacked in recent days, with the fate of some crew members remaining unclear.

The Houthis claim they attacked a Saudi oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden, hours after a report of a powerful explosion near a tanker about 95 nautical miles from Aden. The crew was not harmed, but at this stage there is no Saudi confirmation or proof of a link between the events.
