Moscow trained activists to set fire to buildings and break through police barriers, and paid hundreds of priests to influence voters. According to The New York Times, Russian military intelligence oversaw training camps ahead of the elections. Authorities thwarted the plan, but in Moldova they warn: "We won the battle, not the war."
