Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich has appointed Benny Dreyfus, who recently resigned as CEO of Mifal HaPais, as the new chairman of the state-owned EAPC. He is set to assume the role in September.

Advocate Beni Dreyfuss, who announced his departure as CEO of Mifal HaPais yesterday, has been appointed Chairman of the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Company (EAPC). He will assume the position on September 1, 2026.

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee has extended the secrecy order on EAPC until the end of the year amid arbitration with Iran. The Government Companies Authority, which is pushing for privatization, was excluded from the discussion. Critics argue that the lack of financial transparency turns the company into a "backyard" for the Ministry of Finance.
