Two weeks before the start of the new Serie A season, a friendly Derby d'Italia took place in Perth, Australia, where Inter defeated Juventus 2:1. The champions were superior to their rivals, scoring once in each half. Federico Dimarco opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and substitute Andy Diouf doubled the lead in the 62nd minute.
