Delcy Rodriguez

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was blocked from returning to her country, while US President Donald Trump met with interim president Delcy Rodríguez at the UN.

Following Donald Trump's announcement, the figures behind the deal are revealed: 19 dollars from every barrel will flow into the local treasury. Interim President Delcy Rodriguez clarified: "The sovereignty remains with us."

During five rounds of talks with the opposition, Delcy Rodriguez's government did not raise the demand for the release of the former president, who is imprisoned in the US and facing drug trafficking charges. The opposition claims that Maduro "simply does not exist at the negotiating table."
