Death Threats

A series of death threats were sent in recent days to Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman. The party has filed an official complaint with the Knesset Sergeant-at-Arms and transferred all evidence to law enforcement for investigation.

The woman claimed to the police that her husband threatened to strangle her, burn her, and slit her throat. In the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, she admitted that she had exaggerated in her complaint. The judge refused to accept photographic evidence due to concerns about the use of artificial intelligence and ruled for a full acquittal.

A 69-year-old resident of Akko is accused of extorting his wife of 45 years, subjecting her to verbal abuse and death threats. Following a police investigation, he has been indicted with a request for detention until the end of legal proceedings.

The Israel Police have arrested a 25-year-old resident of East Jerusalem on suspicion of threatening to murder the Chairman of the Education Committee, MK Zvi Sukkot. The suspect sent threatening messages to the lawmaker via social media, including images of weapons and explicit threats against his life.

According to the police, the suspect posted serious threats on social media against ministers Israel Katz and Itamar Ben Gvir while impersonating another person. The court extended his detention by five days after determining that there is a reasonable suspicion of the offenses and a fear of obstruction of the investigation.
