After being denied exit to Jordan at the Rabin crossing, Yuri Komer from Ashdod entered the sea and swam to Aqaba, evading Israeli surveillance. He was found with a large sum of cash, though he claims he was swept away by the current.

An Ashdod resident reported missing managed to cross the maritime border to Aqaba unnoticed. He was returned to Israel earlier this week. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit stated: "The incident is under investigation."

A large marine predator was caught in the city of Aqaba in Jordan and is defined by local residents as "the largest animal caught in recent years." Swordfish tend to migrate to the area during the hot summer months. Unlike the neighboring country, fishing in Israel is subject to strict licensing and location restrictions.
