Amidar

Israel's Ministry of Construction and Housing launched a new scheme allowing public housing tenants to write off up to 50% of accumulated rental debts. Applications are open through managing companies until December 31, 2026.

Amidar, the Maof union, and the workers' committee signed a collective agreement. The deal includes retroactive compensation for 2019–2025, a 1,000 NIS signing bonus, and a shorter workweek.

The head of the council notified the Ministry of Interior of the end of his tenure ahead of his entry into the position of Chairman of the Board of Amidar. Idan was first elected in 2012 by a margin of only three votes. In recent years, he was one of the most prominent voices in the Gaza Envelope demanding a change in the security concept. The race for the position is already beginning.

Good news for hundreds of public sector employees who will receive permanent salary increases, an upgrade to their per diem and subsistence conditions, and a special retroactive compensation for the past years.

The Jerusalem District Court has rejected a lawsuit filed by a public housing tenant seeking to purchase his home through a combination deal with a private developer. The court upheld the Ministry of Construction and Amidar's position, citing the need to prevent the commercialization of public housing rights.
