Rafi Ben Shitrit, number two on the Yisrael Beytenu party list, addressed political alliances and potential coalitions in a recent radio interview on 103FM. He discussed the relationship between Ofer Winter, leader of the Emek Yisrael party, and Avigdor Lieberman, while dismissing concerns about potential friction between political blocs.
Coalition Conditions and Netanyahu
Addressing Winter's political stance, Ben Shitrit acknowledged his military background while drawing a firm red line regarding the premiership. He emphasized that any future cooperation hinges entirely on rejecting Benjamin Netanyahu and supporting a state commission of inquiry.
"If Winter aligns with the next coalition... then he is certainly welcome. But if he recommends Netanyahu and opposes a state commission of inquiry, he should look for another way," Ben Shitrit stated.
Outlook for the Next Elections
Ben Shitrit also touched upon the broader electoral landscape, expressing confidence in the formation of a centrist-zionist coalition following the upcoming Knesset elections. He projected that opposition forces could secure up to 64 mandates by campaigning vigorously across traditional strongholds.
